Pray for PFS - Week 1

This blog is not a continuation of my Tuesday Prayer series, but I hope it is in the Spirit of it, and will be a useful prompt to prayer for those who come across it.

As alluded to in my last blog post, I've just become a Trustee of Pilgrims Friends Society. With that in mind, I'm keen to share the prayer points from our November Month of Prayer with my readers. I'm under no illusions (Grand, deluded, or otherwise) about the quanitity of my readers (there are about six of you, including my mother and wife) but I am reasonably confident of your quality in the praying department.

But I digress.

To recap, PFS is a wonderful charity, dating back a little longer than I've been alive (by a factor of at least a lot) which runs homes for elderly Christians, schemes in the community, and aims to be a voice for older people in church and society. You can find out more on the website.

The Board launched the month of prayer last week and this is the first of the promised weekly prayer bulletins that we will carry on through November.

As I write we are looking for over 40 vacancies to be filled (10% of our workforce). So perhaps as you pray this week you could:

praise God for the handful of people we recruited last week – and ask that they are made to feel welcome and want to stay and settle in quickly.
- ask God to send us over 40 people of His choosing
- specifically ask God to direct the right people to the advertisements that are in November’s Christian magazines for the job vacancies for managers at Shottermill and Evington.
- ask for strength and encouragement for the managers and team leaders who have had a long period of juggling rotas and working extra shifts

Over the next weeks I will mentioned all of the homes where we have vacancies, but this week could you specifically pray for S and her team at Brighton and R and her team at Milward House where we presently have recently had the highest numbers of adverts out.

I hope these make for useful prayer points for you - an easy way to take part in this vital work.
