What do You think Love is?

New Series. Sort of. Something for Tuesdays.

What do You think Love is? Love is elusive. Powerful. Different. Strange. Needed. Painful. Essential. Burning. But what is it?

At its core. At its heart. What is Love?

"Everybody's Looking for Love. Oh. Oh."

"Can Anybody find Me Somebody to love?"

Today, in starting a new sort-of-series to try and understand the crux of the Christian faith, that God is Love, I want to share a song. Contrary to popular belief, there is a song that has been teaching me, for the last few years, about what love is:

I am not always the biggest fan of certain famous churches, worship collectives, or trends in Christianity. But the words here are beautiful. And, if we are being honest, do tell us what Love is:

[Verse 1:]
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

[Chorus:]
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me

[Verse 2:]
Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory, the King of Glory

Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

[Chorus]

[Bridge:]
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy, worthy, worthy
Oh

[Chorus]

Check back next week for something else, a song, a picture, a quote or something else, which is teaching me what Love is. But what do you think? Does this resonate with your understanding, belief, experience, or conviction of what Love is? I'd love to hear your thoughts/
