2 Years: The Best of 2012

Following the two previous posts recapping 2011 and 2010 respectively, here is a post looking at the top posts of 2012 - so far! I ummed and ahed about including this year, but decided I may as well, given that 2010 began around this time of the year, and so it balances out quite nicely.

January of 2012 saw a bumper pairing of guest posts in short succession! Simon Fox shared with us about "Last Man Standing", a Grassroots male purity movement, which has been an encouragement and challenge to many young men, whilst Ben Baker took this blog into uncharted realms by looking at the Tim Tebow phenomenon in his guest post

Another highlight of January for me was an album, recorded at the Vineyard National Leaders Conference in 2011, "My Soul Yearns". Several tracks on there are superb, with "Jesus Name" and "The Lamb Has Conquered" being especial favourites of this blogger.

The bulk of January's posts, however, were about Jesus. Beginning here, I started a series about Jesus. It became a bit of a group project - and I had a number of superb guest posts in the series. Click the link to see whats been written thus far - its still ongoing!

February was a fairly epic month! With the second highest number of pageviews, it was a month that saw some big themes tackled. One of my early favourites, retweeted by both feminists and conservative guys, was "On Lad Culture".

Then the marriage debate started. I hosted two guest posts - on Freedom and on Secularism - which have added to my own writing, best summed up here, and in my later roundup of posts and articles on the topic. I was, in amongst this, grateful to host a guest post from my better half, who wrote on Christian Self Identity.

March, with the highest number of views yet, was focused a lot on marriage and homosexuality, culminating in my view of Christianity and Homosexuality.

I used my blog to challenge perceptions - regarding the Government's consultation in this post, and also the opinion and accepted creed of Stonewall over the whole marriage debate and the response of some people of faith.

April was a quieter month, being on holiday at home and also doing some paid work, whilst finishing essays, meant I had less time for reading, thinking and blogging. That didn't stop some posts being written, one of my favourite being an interview with my cousin to be on a trip he was about to go on.

I also enjoyed writing this review of Tom Wright's newest book, "How God Became King", and again using my blog to raise the issue of pornography, and another popular post was on one of the unsung heroes of the Titanic.

I've enjoyed looking back over the last two years of blogging - there have been some good posts, some awful posts, some popular posts, some unexpected posts, and some ignored posts. Thanks for reading.
