2 Years: The Best of 2010

2 Years, and 13 days ago, the 'Welcome' first post of my blog went live. It was chirpy, hopeful, misguided, and indebted to Adrian Warnock's New Word Alive 2010 Bloggers Meetup/Social Media Seminar.

That month, April 2010, I received a grand total of 473 pageviews.

This year, I've seen a huge change.

In April 2011, I recieved 1,212 pageviews.

In April 2012, I recieved 16,000+ pageviews, having enjoyed a record February of 30,000.

Someone, somewhere, is reading it.

Which is interesting.

So for the next few days, I'm going to post a post rounding up the best posts - in my opinion, and in readership, since the blog started, to give those of you who have only recently come across my little end of the internet, something interesting to read, and those of you who have been there since day 0 the chance to laugh at/with me.

The first month, April 2010 is an interesting one. I blogged the Resurrection Series - which has remained central to my faith, and spawned a page of evidence here. I blogged a thought about the relation of the Bible and Theology - here - which could be seen as being a mission statement, which I hope to continue to hold to in my life, degree, and blogging. The third post was a collation of thoughts - related to my reading of the favourite book of a female friend of mine. Redeeming love is an excellent book - and Amy has become my wonderful wife to be. God has a sense of humour, it seems. I also blogged - twice - on the Holy Spirit - the third person of the Trinity, who I have started to understand, follow and engage with as I've broadened my horizons somewhat. The final post of the month was on a subject dear to me - Depression - and this first post on the subject has set the tone for my writing on this subject.

I think the first month set the tone.

I hope to remain true to these things: The awesome truth of the Resurrection, the living power of the Holy Spirit, the faithfulness of God, my wonderful Amy, and a desire for a biblical theology.

So, these are some of the highlights from 2010:

"The Identity Parade" - one of my favourite ever posts, reflections on identity and student culture.

"There Must Be More Than This: LUST" - Another great early post, on a serious topic, as part of an informal series. I hope you enjoy it.

"Bad Religion" - this is another favourite, including verses of Jesus' words that have challenged me ever since I first read them.

"Grandma, God, and the Gospel of Grace" - a tribute to my wonderful maternal grandmother.

"Rob Bell, John Calvin, and Truth" - my time blogging has had in it the 'Love Wins' saga, and I've come to appreciate, academically and personally, John Calvin, in my search for truth. This post was an early attempt at combining the three.

Those are some of my favourite posts from my first year of blogging. Come back tomorrow for my favourite from 2011.
