Pray for PFS - Week 3

As alluded to in a recent last blog post, I've just become a Trustee of Pilgrims Friends Society. With that in mind, I'm keen to share the prayer points from our November Month of Prayer with my readers. I'm under no illusions (grand, deluded, or otherwise) about the quantity of my readers (there are about six of you, including my mother and wife) but I am reasonably confident of your quality in the praying department. 

But I digress.


To recap, PFS is a wonderful charity, dating back a little longer than I've been alive (by a factor of at least a lot) which runs homes for elderly Christians, schemes in the community, and aims to be a voice for older people in church and society. Below follows this week's prayer points:

Today in a staff prayer time, M shared with us from 2 Corinthians 1:9; 

“we were under great pressure far beyond our ability to endure”  

and then 12:9 

“My grace is sufficient for you”.  

This echoes what some of you have shared with me about recruitment and staffing this month.  Let us keep on praying for strength and grace for our managers and their teams.

This week we can thank God for some successful recruitments (e.g. Brighton activities co-ordinator shared with us today!) but we also need to remember in prayer people whose hope from last week was apparently disappointed as people left to work elsewhere for very understandable reasons (B and L shared these experiences with me last week).  

As we enter out third week of prayer please:
- Pray for E and D whom we have asked to help identify what we can do to boost recruitment and  retention at two homes where we often get low numbers of applicants per advert placed (Wantage and Shottermill).  Please pray that the Lord will give them wisdom and insight from Him.
- Pray this week specifically for B and team at Wantage; P and team at Shottermill; and L, S and their team at Luff House.
- Continue to pray that God will  direct the people of his choosing to us.
  

 "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever." 

(Ephesians 3:20).

I hope these make for useful prayer points for you - an easy way to take part in this vital work.
