I've been blogging for nearly 4 years, now, and it has been a fun journey. I've ended up with free books, posts shared by people I'd never have expected, and seen some great conversations and relationships unfold on and offline. But I mostly blog because I write, and love to write. And one day, I'd like to write quite a few books. I could write a very long, probably very boring, post about those books and the half ideas and nearly-drafts that sit in various places in my brain, study and laptop. But today I have a semi-exciting announcement.
I'm thrilled to say that I've managed to, tentatively, ropily, just about, turn my paper on the Lords' Supper from SVS 2013 into a short eBook. This eBook, published by my friend Winn Griffin over at Harmon Press in their 'Kingdom Praxis Solos' series, which is a collection of short, thought-provoking ebooks around Kingdom theology. This book represents an expansion, editing, and clarification of that paper, with some practical questions raised and some more clues about how it fits into both wider Vineyard theology and my own theological project. Titled 'The Table at the Centre: Towards a Kingdom Vision of the Lord's Supper', you can get a digital copy
You may well ask, why bother buying/reading this if you've read/heard my SVS Paper? Well, I hope that the tweaks, edits and additions make it more readable for all, and more useful for pastors in particular. I've deliberately added some pastoral questions, and Amazon's Kindle format means that references, as well as links to my more recent work, are an absolute doddle. You'd also be supporting me as an aspiring young theologian, seeking to connect the academy and the Church in a way that is missional and Orthodox.
Even if you've read (and possibly even downloaded/made use of!) my SVS Paper, I'd really value you getting a copy of this book, flicking through it, and telling me what you think of it. You can get it for the very low price of £1.84 here at Amazon UK, or if you are American, at Amazon US for $3.07, or directly from Harmon Press here (hopefully coming soon). I'd genuinely value you buying, reading and even reviewing/criticising this little eBook, as I hope it is the first of several, and a crack in the wall between my blogging/writing/researching/reading and one day being a 'traditionally' published author with a physical book I can stick a cup of coffee on.
Thanks for dropping by, for reading my rants and wafflings, and I hope this eBook adds something to the important conversation about worship in general and the sacraments in particular.
