This morning is my sixteenth 'Tuesday Prayer' post, and today's post is a quote from Charles Finney. Finney was an American Presbyterian minister and revivalist, and the quote is taken from his simply titled book, 'Revival';
“If you mean to pray effectually, you must pray a great deal. It was said of the Apostle James that after he was dead it was found that his knees were callous”
I really like this idiosyncratic little quote. I don't think this is a challenge to pray a particular way, or even to pray with a particular posture. I think this is a challenge to pray so often that when you are dead people notice. Prayer is not something we accomplish, but it is something we can do. What could your legacy be, in the light of prayer?
But that is just my opinion - what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments.
