Tuesday Prayer: 10

On the cusp of a New Year comes the tenth post in my 'Tuesday Prayer' series. Today's post is a provocative one, which might inspire or challenge you to approach prayer in 2014 rather differently from before, perhaps. I have for a while (ever since reading the excellent 'Empowered Evangelicals' he co-authored with Rich Nathan') enjoyed books by Ken Wilson, and todays quote comes from his intriguing and interesting 'Mystically Wired'.

"We tend to pray whether or not we feel we are very good at it. We tend to pray whether or not we believe that prayer is a valuable thing to do. We tend to pray whether or not we believe there is anyone out there listening. Apparently we pray because we need to, as though our brains are itching to pray"

What do you make of that? Do you pray regardless? Do you pray when you don't think God is there, or listening? Could this impact how you pray? Let me know in the comments.
