Tuesday Prayer: 8

This is the eighth post in my 'Tuesday Prayer' series, which you might like to read about in the Introduction. This week, the quote about prayer is not from a book, but instead from a Daily Mail article. Have no fear, however, I'm not about to impose any politics. This article - 'The Royal Baby Will Be a Drama: But What Hope Will it Bring Us?' - reports Justin Welby's word regarding the birth of Prince George.

Regarding prayer, Welby said this;

How should we pray for them? Prayer makes a difference, to us as well as to the people we pray for. It is not just good wishes with a religious tag. It is asking God to be at work

I really like that. Welby does four things here - he assumes and hopes people pray, and he makes three important points about prayer. Prayer makes a difference. Prayer is not just positive thinking with extra language. Prayer speaks and points to a God who is at work in the world.

What do you think? Do you agree? Let me know in the comments!

  1. That is a GREAT quote with a lot of hope - and encouragement to keep going - bound up in it.
