Run Josie Run!

I had a nice little catch-up with a friend the other day, and she shared that she is planning on running the Robin Hood half marathon (in Nottingham, unsurprisingly) this weekend, for charity.

The charity she is running for is the Xavier Project, who according to their website blurb;

"The Xavier Project exists to provide opportunities to urban refugees in Kenya and Uganda who are otherwise excluded from the means to live fulfilled and dignified lives. The vision is that through a holistic approach to development, urban refugees will be able to take back control of their lives and make a positive change whether to their new communities or to their country of origin:

Bluntly put, thats a good cause. I've written about justice before, and another great campaign to look at and consider supporting is the "Twenty Seven Million" one - aiming to make a dent in the gruesome spectre of modern-day slavery. If you have read and enjoyed my blog for a while, you may have noticed some of my posts growing towards an approach that I am calling for the moment "Lifetime Justice". Donating to my friend Josie's justgiving page would be a great way of being more of a doer than a reader.

I'll admit, I'm currently unemployed - but I get more money than these kids in Uganda/Kenya. So I've donated a little. Josie is currently at about 53% of her total - maybe you can help push her justgiving account to £1000 to enable one child to have two continuous years of secondary school education - you can help make a huge difference to that child.
